They’ll probably just make it look like a stretched 500 with the roof chopped off and call it the 500R for roadster, 500S for sport, or 500S/M for Shmedium. /s

Almost every site is fixed on the 124 naming. I really hope they don’t keep applying the 500 name to every car they release in the states.

It’s really the headlights I have the biggest issue with on the ND. They seem to narrow/small compared to the rest of the car, and they needed to be rounded out more. The MX-5 shouldn’t look so aggressive.

I’m assuming when Alfa comes out with the new Spyder if they do it will look almost exactly like a scaled down 8C.

Really, Because I think that any other headlights than the ones they put on the ND look better. The ND’s lights are too narrow and aggressive for the car.

Yeah I heard that too and then the talks of it being a new spider or it being strictly an abarth, but who knows. I was merely poking fun at how fiat thinks americans will buy whatever retro-styled shit they send us.

I would get the retro naming scheme a bit more if their past in America was a little more memorable rather than infamous. The non enthusiast crowd seems to buy 500’s for the same reason they buy shirts with those stupid british propaganda format sayings (Keep ... and ... on) and posters of old actors. People love everything 50s/60s or european or both. /endrant

Oh don’t get me wrong, the ND does not have handsome head or tail lamps... These blobs however clash completely with the rest of the body design... Which is still very much a Mazda, and my main complaint, this photoshop did nothing to make it look like a different car, just a bit of virtual badge engineering.

the Alfa is going to be a completely separate car built on its own platform. Fiat is the only one using the new MX-5 platform to develop a roadster. They want to keep Alfa 100% Italian.

We all make mistakes lol. It was going to be an Alfa for a while but Fiat made the decision that an Alfa needs to only come from Italy and this car will be built in Japan. There’s also no way for Alfa to make a car without their signature grill, it’s one of their defining characteristics.
